7th September @ 16:29 AWB launched at the request of UK Coastguard to a 35ft yacht with engine failure and the lone yachtsman with a suspected broken hand, therefore unable to sail. On scene the AWB transferred 2 crew aboard the yacht to assess the injury to the yachtsman, and found that he had broken his ring finger. After splinting his finger, putting his arm in a sling and administering Entonox, the crew aboard the casualty assisted with attaching the AWB tow rope. The AWB then proceeded to tow the casualty into Ramsgate harbour with the two crewmen remaining aboard the yacht to monitor the yachtsman and assist with mooring once the yacht was alongside in the harbour. Once the yacht was safely alongside, the casualty was taken aboard the AWB and brought back to the boathouse. After making ready the Lifeboat, the casualty was taken by car to A & E.
